Oliwa Park
The origins of the impressive park landscaping in Oliwa can be associated with the Cistercians, who established a vegetable and herbal garden in the direct vicinity of the monastery. Some rare, valuable species of trees and other plants can be seen here; for example, tulip tree, Colorado white fir, Douglas fir. The rich flora is even more attractive thanks to the flocks of wild ducks, swans as well as the ubiquitous squirrels. Apart from the magnificent nature, the Oliwa garden also offers other tourist attractions. Worth mentioning here is the Abbots’ Palace, which is a valuable historic building dating back to the 18th century, as well as artistic works representing primarily the Gdańsk Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition.
